Terese Orchid - Day 4

Alegra Returns

Only one more grilled cheese sandwich left! I promptly ate my last grilled cheese sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. I was surprised at how fast they disappeared and wondered if someone else was raiding my refrigerator while I slept.

I was contemplating my sanity when I heard a familiar howl. I think Alegra was happy to see me. I soon found out who made the mess yesterday.

"No! That was very bad, Alegra. I will not tolerate it." I immediately felt sorry for her, so I gave her a treat. After a while, Alegra brought me a stick.

At first, I was not sure what to do with it. Did she want me to keep it? After puzzling it over for a while, I recalled a human interaction that seemed to fit. I brought the stick back over my head and Alegra's eyes seemed to perk up. Smiling, I threw it as hard as I could, quite forgetting about the lower gravity of Luna.

Fortunately, Alegra did not seem to mind the distance she was running. It was easy to lose my loneliness around Alegra. I had always wanted a pet and, although I do not think she calls this place home yet, I feel I have gotten my wish. I was sad to see her go, but I knew she would come back.

I found a stash of human potato chips on my ship. I had forgotten that I had it illegally exported to my homeworld. Luckily our ships are fast enough to where they still had a few days left until they expired. I also found some food from my homeworld that I later used for a filling salad.

Full and content, I climbed into bed and soon fell asleep.

Terese Orchid - Day 3

Build, Build, Build!

It has been only three days and the shower is filthy! Not that I mind cleaning my shower and toilet. I just miss my self-cleaning appliances. I have also realized that copper takes much effort. This is because copper naturally turns green, and I like its original color better.

I found many interesting objects in the sky this morning. 10 galaxies, 2 B-class stars, 6 G-class stars, 8 K-class stars, 4 binary stars, 5 star clusters, and 6 comets later, I have still not found any that are familiar to me. Maybe I should look through my atlas later.

I heated up some leftover grilled cheese. Even though the technology of my race is far superior to that of humans, reheated anything does not taste as good as fresh food.

Tired of standing up all the time, I made a chair. The base is made of the same metal I created my house with, but the upholstery was salvaged from my spaceship. I think it looks handsome and is very relaxing.

Tired of grilled cheese, I made a greenhouse full of tomatoes! It took me all day to modify the metal and glass needed to make it, but I think it was worth it. I even had some time to plant tomatoes (yet another illegally imported human item were bags of assorted seeds).

Blech, more grilled cheese for my midday meal. Hopefully I will have tomatoes to cook with tomorrow. I do not want food to go to waste, but eating the same thing every day gets boring.

A curious sound brought me out of my self-absorption. Not knowing what it was, I went to the door and peered out. To my surprise it was what the humans call a "dog". I greeted it with dog treats. I have decided to call her Alegra. Unfortunately, not long after I agreed on a name, I became very tired. Carpentry and gardening  is hard work!

I woke up two hours later and decided to update this journal. I apologize if today has not been very interesting. At least it is not as boring as what I did before this adventure started. My parental units would not let me do anything at home. All of this is new to me.

Something tipped over my waste disposal unit! The stench wafting from it was horrid. Whatever tipped it over must have added to the mess. Picking it up was a hassle because the waste was sticky. I'm not sure if it is because it was sitting out in the sun too long or if that "added mess" included bodily fluids.

Great, more grilled cheese sandwiches. *twitch* I have heard that some humans are obsessed with grilled cheese sandwiches. However, I find it hard to believe that a anyone, human or otherwise, can eat the same thing every day without change.

Six grilled cheese sandwiches left! I am unsure how I will be able to eat all of my leftovers. Maybe I should have made each meal separately instead of creating a whole platter of them..

I finally got the wireless communication system up and running! Ida was my first caller. At first I was not sure if that was a good idea since we parted angry. I was starting to get lonely again, so I didn't let our rough start get the better of me. At least she was real and wanted to talk to me for some reason. I am still not sure about that bunny that dropped in yesterday

"No, I'm not on vacation!" I was sick of all my relatives so I decided to move to Earth. Unfotunately, my shuttle decided it wanted to go to Luna instead. I hope I will be able to build a small spacecraft and finish my journey to earth.

"What an amusing custom!" Ida tells me about a custom they call 'kissing'. "How important is this kissing thing...?"

"So that is how humans fertilize eggs?" I wonder if those green idiots have figured that out yet.

"Mhmm. I see, so a ring is a symbol of union?" I wonder how a ring would look like on my hand...

"How could you not like parfaits? They are delicious!" Seriously, this human is crazy. Who does not like the perfection that is the parfait?!

"No, I cannot just fly away! My spaceship is incapacitated." I cannot remember what we talked about between parfait and travel. Maybe it was weather? Unfortunately, I did NOT hang up after that. I needed cheering up. Calling this human stupid makes me happy.

"Enough with the weather already..." We spent hours talking about weather because I did not know what to talk about next and she thought it was fascinating.

"Maybe I should make this place into a human observation colony." The idea did not sound all that bad, although I had a big problem. I had no way to advertise such a thing and I am sure that the human rights activists would not approve even if I did. Ida definitely did not approve, but at this point I did not care.

At this point, I figured out how to remove the roads in the neighborhood. This adds to the "stranded" feel of it. I also decided that Ida and any other humans are figments of her imagination at this point. Pets are actually native to the moon (thus the reason why earthlings have the expression "raining cats and dogs".)

"If I create this new city you will become the first exhibit. Muhahahaha" I do not have any ill will against Ida or the human race for that matter. I felt I was not getting enough 'silly' in my life to keep me sane. I think Ida realized this and played along.

"I really like this idea of founding a new city. I shall name it Thenia!" More silliness ensues with Ida and I giggling over small details of city making.

"Hmm, I will need workers to build my new city..." Workers are very important, and something that I doubt I will ever have. Not with how desolate Luna is right now. I start to wonder how Ida came to live here and where exactly she was calling from. I also am finding it hard to recall when I activated the communication system.

"Bye, Ida. I will talk to you later." It was getting late and I had started thinking troubling things. Ida's voice seemed so clear and vivid, but her presence did not add up. I was starting to fear for my sanity.

I decided to look through my Star Atlas. According to the atlas, Polaris is at the very end of the Ursa Minor, also called the little dipper. Ursa Major, the big dipper, lead to finding Arcturus and Spica (arch to Arcturus and then spike down to Spica). From there, I found the summer triangle, which consisted of Vega, Deneb, and Altair.

I set forth to find my home system. With my new knowledge of the stars, it was easy to spot the notable stars laid out in the atlas. Soon I was gazing at what the humans call Gliese 581. Around this star orbits four planets, the furthest of which is a water planet called Fothur by my people. Satisfied that I can now find my home star, I decide to head downstairs and go to sleep.

Glitch?

Evidently garbage bags are see-through in sim-world. Also, if you haven't noticed I'm a bit of an astronomy geek :P B-class stars are blue, G-class stars are yellow (like our sun, which is a G2 star), and K-class stars are orange :D One of the B-class stars were "unknown" so Terese got §500! Yay :D

Sorry for such a lengthy update and phone spam, but I love her "Why am I talking to such stupidity?" face :3 28 pics ftw (not counting teaser and glitch XP so actually it's 30).
